Covid-19 community transmission is HIGH

Greene County public health is now offering vaccine clinics for both the influenza (“flu”) and COVID-19 vaccines through early November. With this “one-stop shop” approach, individuals may receive their flu and/or the COVID vaccine. All three brands (Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson) will be available. The COVID-19 vaccine is available for anyone who is not vaccinated, partially vaccinated, or in need of a  Pfizer booster dose.

Clinics will be held at the Public Health department, Greene County Medical Center, Level B, on the following dates:

  • Tuesdays:  Oct 19, Oct 26, Nov 2, from 9 am to 12 pm
  • Thursdays: Oct 7, Oct 14, Oct 28, Nov 4, from 1 to 4 pm
  • Drive-through clinic: Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 7 pm at Greene County Fairgrounds

Greene County public health director Becky Wolf reported that as of Oct. 4, there have been 1,261 cases of Covid-19 in the county. Seventy-two new cases have been diagnosed in the past seven days, for a 7-day positivity rate of 13.5 percent (an increase from 10.6 percent on Sept. 27. The CDC rates the level of community transmission as high.
