Armed robbery at bank in Scranton

The Peoples Bank location in Scranton was robbed at 10:37 this morning, Feb. 25. The Greene County sheriff’s office has released a photo from the bank’s surveillance cameras and is asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

Greene County sheriff Jack Williams did not provide information of how much money was taken. The suspect, a White male probably in his 20s, carried a gun but did not discharge it. Williams said law enforcement has not yet identified the vehicle used in the robbery.

The sheriff’s office is assisted by the Iowa Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
