Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Sunday, Feb. 28: At 12:06 am a deputy investigated a burglary in 1800 block of Highway 30 west of Grand Junction. At 1:30 am a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of County Road E-53 west of Grand Junction. The driver was found to have an active warrant out of Jasper county. Breeana Marie King, 25, of Perry was arrested on the Jasper County warrant for violation of probation and on a Greene County charge of possession of drug paraphernalia*. At 2:01 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a theft complaint at Wild Rose Casino. At 1:52 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of theft in the 700 block of 11th St S in Grand Junction.
Saturday, Feb. 27: At 9:28 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 300 block of Head St in Churdan.
Friday, Feb. 26: At 3:44 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 900 block of Cedar St in Scranton.
Thursday, Feb. 25: At 10:41 am an unknown caller reported a false two-vehicle accident on 310th St and Highway 4 in Franklin Township. At 10:47 am the sheriff and deputies responded to a bank robbery at Peoples Bank in Scranton. A white male wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans, and tiger-striped face mask was observed in the video surveillance.
Wednesday, Feb. 24: At 12:27 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of fraud in the 200 block of E. State St in Jefferson. At 5:49 pm a deputy investigated a theft near 19th and Hager Sts in Grand Junction. At 6:04 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out near Highway 30 and County Road P-46 (W Ave) east of Grand Junction. At 8:02 pm a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident in the 1100 block of X Ave in Junction Township. Justin Sparr, 27, of Grand Junction struck a dog in the roadway with a 2014 Toyota Camry. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,500.
Tuesday, Feb 23: At 10:43 am deputies assisted the Jefferson PD with a search warrant in the 500 block of S. Chestnut St. At 3:42 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 100 block of E. Percival St in Rippey.
Monday, Feb. 22: At 7:39 am a deputy assisted a stuck motorist on Highway 144 near V Ave in Junction Township. At 11:05 am a deputy assisted a stuck motorist in the 1100 block of E Ave in Kendrick Township. At 11:07 pm a deputy assisted the Lake City PD with locating a subject who was harassing someone in their city.
Sunday, Feb. 21: At 12:19 pm a deputy investigated a car in the ditch on Highway 4 near L Ave in east of Churdan. At 12:41 pm a deputy assisted a motorist that was stuck in the snow on W. Adams and Elm Sts in Jefferson. At 12:52 pm a deputy assisted a motorist stuck in the snow on Highway 30 near Pioneer Ave east of Jefferson.
Saturday, Feb. 20: At 10:10 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 400 block of E Ave in Cedar Township. At 2:36 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 300 block of 4th St in Rippey. At 6:09 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on Quaker Ave near 255th St in Grant Township.
Friday, Feb. 19: At 1:10 pm a deputy arrested Alan Tuhn, 36, of Jefferson for three counts of forgery*.

Tuesday, Feb. 16: At 8:13 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in Dana. At 2:29 pm a deputy assisted a transient in Grand Junction find a warm place to stay. At 4:35 pm a deputy investigated a unemployment scam in Scranton. At 4:50 pm a deputy arrested Douglas Shutt, 60, of Grand Junction for a probation violation*.
Monday, Feb. 15: At 4:33 am a deputy investigated a possible fire near Bennett and 9th Sts in Grand Junction. There was no fire, just heavy exhaust from a vehicle. At 10:25 am a deputy investigated damage to a jail cell done by an inmate. At 5:57 pm an off duty deputy found Amy Grimsman, 46, of Fort Dodge and Todd Grimsman, 35, of Fort Dodge burglarizing a residence in the 100 block of 185th St in Kendrick Township. It was also found that they burglarized another building in the 200 block of 185th St. Amy Grimsman and Todd Grimsman were charged with two counts each of burglary- third degree*.

Saturday, Feb. 13: At 3:27 am a deputy assisted the Webster County sheriff’s office with locating a vehicle in the ditch. The vehicle and occupants were found on N Ave and Baxter Ave in Webster County. At 7:28 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a stolen vehicle near Highways 30 and 4. At 8:30 pm a deputy arrested John Welch, 59, of Grand Junction on a warrant for a violation of probation*.
Friday, Feb. 12: At 6:45 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on County Road E-53 (235th St) and Q Ave east of Jefferson.
Thursday, Feb. 11: At 3:55 pm a deputy assisted a motorist who slid into the ditch on County Road E-53 near T Ave west of Grand Junction. At 5:33 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 500 block of 3rd St in Rippey.
Wednesday, Feb. 10: At 10:33 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on County Road N-65 (D Ave) and 170th St in Cedar Township.
Tuesday, Feb. 9: At 9:58 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on Highway 25 near 260th St south of Scranton. A 17-year-old male from Bayard lost control of a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado and entered the west ditch, rolling the vehicle. Damage to the pickup was estimated at $5,000. The driver, who was not named in the sheriff’s daily report, was not injured. At 10 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a domestic assault in Rippey. At 11:35 am a deputy conducted a welfare check at that same location. At 6:13 pm a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on Highway 4 near 250th St south of Jefferson. Hermelando Pacheco, 37, of Bagley was northbound driving a 2014 Ford F150 pickup truck when he fell asleep. The vehicle drifted into the snow on the shoulder, pulling it into the guardrail on the bridge. Greene County Ambulance responded and transported Pacheco to Greene County Medical Center with minor injuries. Pacheco was cited for failure to maintain control, failure to prove financial liability, and operating without a valid driver’s license. Damage to the pickup was estimated at $10,000. The guardrail was severely damaged.
Monday, Feb. 8: At 7 am a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in Grand Junction.
Sunday, Feb. 7: At 10:43 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in responding to a domestic assault. At 9:49 pm a deputy investigated an abandoned vehicle in the 1800 block of County Road E-53 west of Grand Junction.
Saturday, Feb. 6: At 2:32 am a deputy assisted with getting a horse back in its lot in the 1700 block of County Road P-14 (J Ave) in Jackson Township. At 2:48 pm a deputy, Jefferson fire department, Grand Junction fire department, Greene County Ambulance, and the Jefferson PD responded to a barn fire in the 500 block of S. Grimmell Rd in Jefferson. At 5:33 pm a deputy investigated an unoccupied car in the ditch on County Road P-40 near County Road E-57 west of Rippey. At 7:20 pm a deputy investigated a suspicious person in the 500 block of 16th St N in Grand Junction. At 7:51 pm a deputy investigated an unoccupied car in the ditch on Highway 4 and 140th St east of Churdan.
Friday, Feb. 5: At 5 12:04 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an intoxicated person. At 7:25 am a deputy investigated a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 4 near County Road E-33 (190th St) north of Jefferson. The vehicle was no longer there when the deputy arrived. At 9:09 am a deputy investigated an abandoned vehicle on 300th St and Taft Ave in Washington Township. At 11 pm a deputy investigated a suspicious person in the 500 block of 16th St N in Grand Junction.
Thursday, Feb. 4: At 7:27 am a deputy assisted a secondary roads crew with a stranded semi on County Road E-53 near Jordan Ave west of Jefferson. At 8:58 am a deputy investigated an abandoned 911 call in the 1200 block of B Ave in Kendrick Township. At 3:26 pm a deputy assisted with an injured deer in the 1100 block of Highway 144 in Junction Township. At 8:26 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 1100 block of 170th St in Bristol Township.
