As of Friday morning, Oct 9, Greene County currently has 147 confirmed cases of Covid-19, reports Greene County public health director Becky Wolf. That’s two more new cases in the past 24 hours. Seventy-two people have recovered (38 with no pre-existing condition) and no deaths.
The average rate of positive cases over the past 14 days has decreased from 8.6 percent Thursday to 7.9 percent Friday. Days to double remains at 25.
Breakdown for age groups for positive cases:
- 0-18 years: 14 percent
- 19-39 years: 35 percent
- 40-59 years: 35percent
- 60-74 years: 14 percent
- 80 and older: 2 percent
Wolf reminds all county residents that if an infected person and a close contact are BOTH wearing masks, a 14-day quarantine is not needed for that close contact.
