The Ram boys cross country team placed third of 10 teams at the Saydel Eagles cross country invitational Oct. 8.
Logan Woodruff finished first of the Ram boys, in 15th place with a time of 18:38. Other places and times were Luis Velazco, 22nd, 19:19; Ethan Frederick, 23rd, 19:19; Jayden Carstensen, 26th, 19:49; and Dakota Mobley, 27th, 19:51.
North Polk won the invitational with 23 points, followed by Des Moines Christian with 37 points and the Rams with 112 points. Other team scores were Interstate 35 146, Grandview Christian 146, Van Meter 189, PCM 194, Saydel 204, Perry 221, and Ankeny Christian Academy 228.
The girls team had only three runners. Times were Olivia Shannon 25:59; Makala Kafer 26:20; and Autumn Stevens 28:33.
“Conditions were pretty good and I was happy with the way the team competed,” coach Jeff Lamoureux said. “This should give us some confidence going into Monday’s conference meet, which will be held at the same course.”
