Scarecrow Invasion: Time Warp Edition coming to Jefferson

All Jefferson business owners, organizations and creative residents who like to have fun are invited to be part of the Scarecrow Invasion: Time Warp Edition.

During the month of October, dozens of scarecrows will welcome visitors to downtown Jefferson. “Let’s line the city streets and downtown windows with whimsy, fun and a little scary, of course,” a spokesperson for Jefferson Matters: A Main Street & Chamber Community.

Scarecrows can represent any decade, era, movement. “Want to celebrate the women’s suffragette movement, rock ‘n’ roll, spacemen, the Roaring ‘20s, gangsters, New Age, the ‘90s, toga time? Have fun; it’s your choice!” the spokesperson said.

Retailers are interested in having scarecrows in their storefronts and sidewalks. Anyone interested in creating a scarecrow for display is asked to email director@jeffersonmatters.org if you would like to participate. The winning entry will be awarded the coveted Scarecrow Invasion Trophy 2020.
