BOOST Bash will be virtual this year

The third annual BOOST Bash will proceed on its rescheduled date of Saturday, June 27, but in an altered format: this year’s BOOST Bash will be completely virtual.

The BOOST steering committee will provide additional details in the coming weeks, but the revised events will still include an online auction and recognition of the “great things happening at Greene County Community Schools,” an organizer said.

Previews of auction items will begin appearing around Jefferson’s downtown square in the coming weeks.

The BOOST committee will offer refunds to anyone who purchased a seat reservation for the event. Those reservations not refunded will be considered a tax-deductible donation. Persons who would like a refund can email gschoolsboost@gmail.com, call 515-370-3325, or mail a request to Greene Country Schools BOOST, PO Box 4, Jefferson, IA  50129.

BOOST is an acronym for Bringing Optimism & Opportunities to Students & Teachers, and all proceeds from this event will directly impact students and teachers in the Greene County Community School District.

Previous years’ donations have funded projects like field trips, musical instruments, virtual business simulations, equipment for nurse aide training, and supplemental reading materials. A complete list is available at www.boosgreenecountyschools.com

The BOOST Facebook page, Boost Greene County, IA) will have updated information as the event draws closer.
