School meal program staff tests positive for COVID-19

The Greene County Schools announced Monday evening that one of the persons handing out grab-and-go lunches in Rippey Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week (April 27-29)  has tested positive for COVID-19.

The individual did not help with lunch preparation and has not been in the middle school building where lunches are prepared.

“We plan to continue to take every precaution necessary to keep our workers and students and families safe as we prepare and pass out meals for students,” a school notification stated.

Persons who want more information about protecting themselves and their families from COVID-19 can call the Greene County public health COVID hotline at 515-386-0564 between 8 am and 8 pm, or visit coronavirus.iowa.gov
