Lamb Producers hold annual banquet

The Lamb Producers banquet March 14 at Clover Hall

The annual Greene County Lamb Producer banquet was held Saturday, March 14. The meal of smoked leg of lamb was prepared by the Lamb Producers with side dishes and dessert catered by Lidderdale Country Store.

Following the meal, Steve Karber reported on the progress of the Greene County community lamb barn project for 4-H youngsters. Sixteen 4-H members with 21 lambs participated in 2019.

Jeremy Hoskins gave an update on the Clover Kids lamb project. Then 2019 Greene County Fair sheep award winners received their plaques.

The evening concluded with an auction of trophy plaques and many donated items. The auction was led by Kevin Lentz and netted $3,000.

With money raised in 2019 the Lamb Producers purchased large fans for the sheep  barn at the county fair. Other projects included supporting the community lamb barn project and furnishing lamb for Clover Café at the fair. Greene County Lamb Producers grilled at the Scranton sesquicentennial, the Scranton community fundraiser, the Greene County football team, and the Saturday night barbecue at the county fair.
