UMC PROGRAM – The Rippey United Methodist Church Sunday school Christmas program, under the direction of Jo Bardole, was Dec. 15. Jo read the Christmas story from the gospels of Luke and Matthew. The members of the cast were:
Mary – Danae Sellers; Joseph – Ryan Schell; shepherds – Ashley Buenrostro, Becca Davis, Raymond Weis, Sam Schell; lamb – Rhemington Beach; Gabriel – Michael Schell; angels – Ireland Sellers, Adora Sellers, Aryana Mills; wisemen – Avery Bardole, Aden Bardole, Shane Sellers

After church, a soup dinner consisting of chili, chicken noodle soup, crackers, and cinnamon rolls was served. The free will offering will go to the general fund. There were even people from the Perry Church. We thank them and all who helped make it a success.

Christmas Eve Service will be at 7 pm. There will be a tea table with goodies, so everyone can visit before going home. ~ Phyllis and Jo Bardole

CHRISTMAS IN AZ – The holiday season is in full force in this household. The kids still wake up early, but the morning rush of getting dressed for school is lifted, so there are early morning snuggles in my bed and serious conversations on patience, concerning the packages under the tree. Now that they can do math, a daily count of the tags on the packages belonging to them, is ongoing.

I helped in the kindergarten class party on Thursday. There were several “stations” set up and I was assigned to help decorate cookies. Santa visited and informed them he was looking forward to his cookies and milk on Christmas Eve, because Mrs. Santa had him on a diet all year, except this one night!

Oh, the promises made that morning, ensuring him that there would be plenty waiting in their homes. One little boy told Santa that he hoped he liked licorice cookies!

I know this activity will be part of our plans, but something tells me that licorice won’t be part of the ingredients! Merry Christmas to all! ~ Jean Borgeson

December 18 was our Christmas Party at the library. There were several crafts, age appropriate, for the children to make. They also mixed up their own “trail mix”. There was popcorn and party mix to eat and apple juice to drink.

I want to thank Nancy Burrow and Lyle Rychnovsky, two of our trustees for helping out. Our other friends of the library, Myron and Maralynn Rinker, came to celebrate also. She brought ‘Halo’s’ for the kids to take home. We also had one parent who attended.

I am trying to prepare to be gone for a few weeks while I have my other knee replaced. I must say it isn’t a good time of year to do this, but I appreciate the board stepping up to the plate to work for me. I’m hoping I can be back in three to four weeks.

We have a lot of books that need homes for a couple weeks! Some of my adult readers have not braved the weather.

I hope you all have a good Christmas and a Happy New Year. I’m looking forward to a better year.
