Adopt-A-Family is the recipient of a surprise Give Back Award of $10,000 from Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation. GGCGC board members presented Adopt-A-Family board member Sherry Graven with the big check in a surprise presentation on Friday. Graven is instrumental in organizing the annual Christmas food boxes for many families and individuals in Greene County each year.
Each year the Adopt-A-Family board hopes there are enough donations to provide for the needs. With between 170 – 190 families served at approximately $100 per box, close to $20,000 is needed.
Graven was overwhelmed with emotion with the donation, and feels with the generosity of others in the community making donations, the Adopt-A-Family will be able to concentrate on ordering the supplies for the Christmas distribution.
Several GGCGC board members help with the Adopt-A-Family distribution each year and think this donation would make an impact. This board has distributed these surprise awards each year since existence.
