Greene County district court, week ending June 19

In Greene County district court Jason A. Thede, 48, of Jefferson was sentenced June 14 to 30 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault-simple, amended from assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. The jail sentence was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. Thede was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Justin Jeffrey Baker, 32, of Grand Junction was sentenced to one year in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of carrying weapon. The jail term was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. Baker was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Ronald Lynn Becker, 48, of Boone, eluding nd driving while license barred; Roger Allen Burnie Jr, 33, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana- second offense and child endangerment (three counts); Amelia Marie Kennedy, 34, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and child endangerment (three counts); and James Michael Gorman, 50, of New York, NY, operating while intoxicated- first offense and possession of marijuana. Trial dates were set for Aug. 27 in every case.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Patricia Lynn Monthei, 51, of Panora, OWI- third offense; and John Taylor Roberts, 20, of Grand Junction, criminal mischief- fourth degree (four counts).
