After missing two indoor meets and the first outdoor meet of the season due to injury, Ram junior Carter Morton was back in top form for the Kip Janvrin Relays at Panorama High School Tuesday. Morton won the high jump, clearing the bar at 6’ 6”.
The Rams dominated in the field events, with Kolby Kafer winning the long jump at 20’ 4-1/2” and Bryce Hoyle winning the shot put at 46’ 5”. Tyler Miller was second in the shot with a toss of 46’ 3”. Hoyle placed third in the discus with a throw of 127’ 6”.
Two Ram relay teams won. The 4 X 100m team of Tyler Teeples, John Rosado, Brent Riley and Kafer placed first in 46.64 seconds. Three of the four were back to win the 4 X 200m relay with a time of 1:36.18. Runners were Teeples, Jaxon Warnke, Riley and Kafer.
The 4 X 400m team of Bryce Stalder, Will Hansen, Jackson Morton and Warnke finished third with a time of 3:48.94. The distance medley relay of Hansen, Rosado, Logan Brophy and Nathan Wailes also placed third. The boys’ time was 4:08.64. The 800m sprint medley team of Riley, Warnke, Rosado and Teeples finished fourth with a time of 1:44.46. The 4 X 800m team of Colton Aubrey, Wailes, Brophy and Logan Woodruff took fifth place in 9:47.73.
In individual events, Kafer won the 200m dash in 23.75 seconds. Teeples placed third in the 100m dash in 11.94 seconds.
The Ram girls also won the 4 X 200m relay. Melanie Doran, Makala Kafer, Maddy Sigler and Brianna Osterson finished in 1:54.29. The same team, with Sigler and Kafer trading positions, won the 800m sprint medley in 1:57.27. Doran, Kafer, Sigler and Osterson placed third in the 4 X 100m relay in 53:36 seconds.
The 4 X 100m shuttle hurdle relay placed second with a time of 1:14.06. Runners were Izzy Bravard, Lily Muir, Maddie VanPelt and Melanie Doran.
In individual events, Bravard finished third in the 100m hurdles in 18.4 seconds. She placed fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:17.46. Lily Muir placed seventh in the 100m hurdles with a time of 19.67 seconds.
Brooklyn Olson placed second in the discus throw at 119’ 3”. She placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 34’ 4”. Lily Muir placed third in the long jump at 15’ 2”. Osterson was in fourth place at 15’.
Team scores were not provided, but both Ram teams placed fourth.
