Tower View Team receives two grants for Arch Alley

Progress continues on Arch Alley through Tower View Team. This has come in the form of grant awards and donations.

The Jefferson high school class of 1967 donated $1,200 towards a bronze plaque for the alley. Chris Durlam and Ces Brunow represented the class as they chose a project in which to invest their funds that would be long-lasting.

The donation provided the match needed to apply for and then receive a grant from the Greene County Community Foundation for $2,589. The Foundation award was received at the Awards Night on March 25 and presented by Community Foundation board president Tori Riley.

The bronze plaque will contain the Arch Alley community collaborative poem called “Arcs” written as the concept of this north alley space in the downtown was being formed.

Tower View Team received a Grow Greene County Grant in 2018 with a substantial match from Home State Bank for the project.

Another way the public can be involved with Arch Alley is by purchasing a “I’m a Part of the Arch” button for $20 from a Tower View Team member or at the Main Street Office.

The project continues as artist David Williamson and volunteers weld and form the three arches at Williamson’s studio near Ogden. The completion of Arch Alley is still on track for early fall.
