Greene County students at All-State Speech Festival

The Greene County High School radio broadcasting group was one of 16 radio broadcasting groups at the All-State Speech Festival Saturday at the Iowa State Center in Ames. Greene County was one of the smaller schools to have events selected, and it was the only Heart of Iowa Activities Conference member at the festival.Senior Arthur Bardole, juniors Ashlee Harmeyer and Kassie Lamoureux, and sophomore Justice Phillips comprise the group. Radio broadcasting is not performed live. It is written by students. recorded and then submitted for judging at the district and state large group contests. The All-State Festival is not a judged event.

All-State radio broadcast groups from the southwest district in addition to Greene County were Lewis Central, Stanton and West Des Moines Valley. Other groups were Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Cedar Rapids Washington, GMG (Garwin) and Linn-Mar from the southeast district; Decorah, Dubuque, Waterloo West and Waukon from the northeast district; and Le Mars Community, Sioux Central and Western Christian (Whiting) in the northwest district.
