Mass of the Resurrection was offered Jan. 26 at St Brigid Catholic Church in Grand Junction for Eleanor Elizabeth Krieger, 87 of Grand Junction.
Celebrant was Father Steven Brodersen of Carroll. Soloist was Sheilah Pound, accompanied by Lois Last. Honorary bearers were Megan Hogueison, Kaitlin Hougeison, Nicholas Crouse, Andrew Krieger, Brenna Lucas, Ashley McDonald and the late Travis Crouse. Interment will be at a later date at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Grand Junction.
Eleanor Elizabeth Tiffany Krieger was born August 7, 1931, in rural Greene County. She was the daughter of James Albienus Tiffany and Elizabeth Magdeline Flanagan Tiffany.
Eleanor’s early education was at St. Mary’s Academy in Grand Junction. Eleanor graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1949. She worked as a bookkeeper for Wiltse and Mears for 20 years, and at the Municipal Light Plant in Grand Junction for 21 years, retiring on December 29, 1995.
Eleanor was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church and Altar Society. She died January 23, 2019, at Greene County Medical Center. She was 87 years of age.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Roderick Krieger; son Roger Krieger; grandson Travis Crouse; son-in-law John Hogueison; and brother Edward Tiffany.
Survivors are her daughters Susan Hogueison and Regina (Jeff) Thorpe of Grand Junction of Grand Junction and Teresa (Dale) Crouse of Dana; grandchildren Megan Hogueison, Kaitlin Hogueison, Nicholas Crouse, Andrew Krieger, Brenna Lucas, and Ashley McDonald; great-grandchildren Rod Hogueison, Brayton Crouse, Colton Crouse, Chase McDonald, Kenley Krieger, and Brady McDonald; and other relatives and friends.
The family was assisted by Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home of Jefferson.
