GrCoMS tells honor students for first tri

Patriot’s Pen winners named

At a recent assembly at Greene County Middle School students’ accomplishments during the fall semester were celebrated.

Winners of the Patriot’s Pen essay contest were honored. Kristin Wailes placed first, Meadow Losee placed second, and Michael Rumley placed third. Students wrote essays of 300-400 words on the topic “Why I Honor the American Flag.”

Kristin’s essay will advance to district competition. The national winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
