Bowling night slated for new and potential 4-H members

Interested new 4-H members this year, as well as their parents and guardians, are invited to a free bowling and pizza night Friday, Nov. 9, beginning at 6 pm at the Greene County Extension office. The night will begin with fun and learning more about the 4-H program before heading to Spare Time Lanes in Jefferson to bowl.

Members and parents will have an opportunity to ask questions about any part of 4-H. Youngsters will get a chance to meet other 4-H members and get involved in team building activities.

According to Kayla Willms, county youth and 4-H coordinator for Greene County Extension, the evening will be a fun way to help new members or someone who is interested in joining 4-H feel a part of the organization that focuses on positive youth development. “You do not have to be currently enrolled in 4-H to attend this event. Please RSVP to come ask questions and learn more about Greene County 4-H,” said Willms. The event is a joint effort between the Greene County 4-H Youth Development program committee and the Greene County 4-H Young Leaders.

The event is free, but to get a good head count, reservations are requested by noon on Friday, Nov. 9.. To RSVP contact Kayla Willms at 515-386-2138 or khyett@iastate.edu. Youngsters and parents thinking about joining 4-H are also invited, and friends are welcome to attend as well.
