Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig will speak at “Big Questions 2019”Thursday, Aug. 23, at 6 pm at Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson. The event is hosted by Home State Bank.
Naig will have a conversation with Delany Howell, host of IPTV’s Market-to-Market about the new farm bill, tariffs, water quality and agriculture’s outlook.
Naig was appointed by Governor Kim Reynolds to succeed Bill Northey as Iowa Secretary of Agriculture on Monday, March 5, 2018. Prior to that, he had served as Iowa Deputy Secretary of Agriculture for Northey since September 2013.
As secretary, Naig is committed to leading efforts to protect consumers, expanding economic opportunities for Iowans and advocating in Iowa and around the globe on behalf of the hard-working men and women who keep us fed and fueled.
Mike Naig grew up on a family farm in the northwest corner of the state near Cylinder and he continues to be involved in the operation today.
