Gwen Black, a 2018 Greene County High School graduate, received a $1,000 Brock Grain Systems Scholarship by the Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement (IFAA) during the Sale of Champions at the Iowa State Fair Aug. 18.
IFAA is a non-profit organization established in 1988 dedicated to encouraging 4-H and FFA livestock, poultry and agriculture project members to pursue ag-related careers by providing financial support.
More than $182,500 was awarded in scholarships to 111 youngsters this year by IFAA.
IFAA’s primary programs are the Winner’s Circle scholarship program established in 1990, and the Sale of Champions at the Iowa State Fair. More than $8.2 million has been generated since 1988 for 2,253 Winner’s Circle scholarships 1,551 performance and carcass awards, and 408 Sale of Champions livestock exhibitors.
