Gardeners are invited to a Community Conversation to learn from Lynn Menz about permaculture gardening, his new passion.
The informal event will be held Thursday, Aug. 30, at 5:30 pm at Menz’s home at 807 W. South St in Jefferson. Attendees will take the long lane to the Menz home to start the tout. They’ll see rainwater collection systems, interesting landscaping ideas, and plats including amorphaphallis, plumeria, and dawn redwoods.
There will also be a tour of his new garden area and the bonsai forest on his deck. He now has about 50 bonsai trees. He’ll also talk about pollarding and coppicing and espalier trees.
There is no charge.
The Community Conversation series is hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church as a service to the community.
