A group of 19 members of Abundant Life Ministries spent a busy week earlier this month in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
In San Pedro Sula they returned to Hope House orphanage to put up drywall in a new multi-purpose building, visited the public hospital, and built a security fence around Iglesia Esperanza Viva, the church where Edward and Sarah (Sutton) Nazar minister.
They spent one day in the mountain village of El Volcan, visiting the 150 school children there, and they built a small kitchen/storage area at the school.
Local businesses supported the trip with gifts for the people of Honduras. Power Lift sent T-shirts for all the school children and the mission team, Addie’s sent along dresses and sandals for the women’s group at the church, and Hy-Vee and Fareway also sent supplies.
“It really excited me to see so many in the community get involved in addition to all those who supported our mission trip fundraiser,” said Donna Sutton, one of the trip organizers.
