Jefferson Telecom customers and employees were generous in donating school supplies during a drive sponsored by Jefferson Telecom.

Students will once again find organized play and a healthy snack at the Greene County Community Center Wednesday afternoons when school dismisses early. ReCharge Wednesdays will meet from 2 to 3:30 pm every Wednesday school is in session. Students in grades K-8 are welcome. JPRD staff and volunteers will organize group games and then serve a nutritious snack.

Participants in the Jefferson park and recreation department’s archery program had the opportunity to compete in the Iowa Games on the Iowa State University campus July 21-22.

Several favorite programs of the Jefferson park and recreation department will begin soon. Flag football for boys and girls grades 1-3 is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 4-25, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Kelso Park. The emphasis will be on fundamentals, coordination, the rules of the game, and learning to play with teammates. Simeon Lang will direct the program.

Staff at Whiterock Conservancy invite everyone who wants to spend an  afternoon in one of the most natural parts of Iowa to bring their Gator similar vehicle for a trail ride Sunday, Aug. 19. “Spend the afternoon enjoying the sun and watching nature thrive with your family and friends,” a spokesperson said.
