Funeral services for Dale C. Jones, Sr, 73, of Jefferson, were held Thursday, June 21, at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jefferson. Interment was in the Prairie Center Cemetery in Dallas County.
Dale Clell Jones Sr. was born February 28, 1945, in Perry, the son of Elva Davis Jones and Orville Jones. He grew up on the family farm south of Dawson. He went to a country school south of Perry. For 22 years, Dale worked at Weiss Corporation in Perry until he retired in 1993. He had lived on the family farm taking care of his mom until 1991 when they moved to Jefferson.
Dale loved to play cards. He enjoyed his circle-a-word puzzle books, and cruising around town with his grandson.
Dale passed away at his home in Jefferson on June 16, 2018. He was 73 years of age. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Keith Jones.
Survivors include his daughter Bonnie (Doug Foster) Orfield of Atlantic and her children Jeremy Orfield, Alanna Murphy, and Elizabeth Orfield, all of Jefferson; his son Dale Jones Jr, of Marshalltown; his sister Flossie (Kenneth) Morrell of Adel; his brother Gordon (Kathryn Moore) Jones of Perry; other relatives and friends.
