Rams shut out in pair of soccer games

The Ram girls and boys soccer teams lost by shut out in games Tuesday, although the total points scored against the teams was only three.

The boys entered the week ranked 15th on 1A. They lost on the road to the #4 rated Gilbert Tigers by a 1-0 score.  Sustained winds throughout the game challenged both teams. 

Ram goalie Kyle Peters successfully defended against 17 shots, allowing only one score. The Rams kicked eight shots on goal.

The Ram boys are now 6-3 overall. Gilbert is the first Heart of Iowa Activities Conference member they’ve played.

The girls team hosted Kuemper Catholic in Grand Junction and lost 2-0. Both Kuemper goals came in the first 25 minutes of play. The team took seven shots, more than in recent games. The Ram girls are 1-4 on the season.
