Middle school girls track & field update

Greene County eighth grade girls competed in the Nevada MS Track Invitational on Thursday, April 19. The Young Rams collected 16 points to finish sixth.

Winning first place in the 200-meter race was Maddie Van Pelt in a time of 30.14 seconds.

Other place winners were Rilee Jordan, fourth in 100-meters with a time of 15.20 and the 800-meter relay team consisting of Madison Grow, Rilee Jordan, Lucy Dudley and Addi Adcock with a time of 2:20.07 for fifth place.

“We have a small team and could not fill a lot of the events. We are impressed with Maddie’s first place finish in the 200 m dash and in Rilee’s fourth place finish in the 100 m dash,” commended coach Teresa Green.

On April 20 the seventh and eighth grade girls combined to compete in the John Davis Coed Relays in Perry. They finished fifth in team competition.

“We have improved a great deal since our first meet at Ogden. These girls cheer each other on and support each other in every event,” stated coach Roger Olhausen.

• 4×200 relay – Alexa Peters, Madison Kinsey, Analynn Baugh, Emma Rosenow 2:13, fourth
• Distance medley relay – Emma Halterman, Kamryn Sanders, Emma Rosenow, Autumn Stevens 5:39.64, fifth
• Shuttle hurdle relay – Alexa Peters, Addi Adcock, Paige Teeples, Maddi Hayes 1:28.59, fifth
• Shot put – Brianna Habben 21’ 10.5”, fourth
• Discus – Emma Hoyle 56’ 5.5”, fourth; Brianna Habben 56’ 2.5”, fifth

“Our girls continue to improve their times and distances. The seventh and eighth graders work together to make our relay teams stronger,” noted Green.
