Abundant Life plans ‘A Heart for Honduras’ fundraiser

The cast of ‘Café Murder’ includes (seated, from left) Paula Carlson, Isabella Schroeder, Shelly Schroeder, Omega Sang and Emily Chapman; and (standing, from left) Clayton Chapman, Jake Keller and Zandra Maldonado.

All are invited to a dinner theatre fundraiser hosted by members of Abundant Life Ministries Saturday, May 5, at the church’s Redemption Center at 1308 W. Lincoln Way in Jefferson.

The evening will begin at 6:30 pm with appetizers, dinner, and a selection of desserts. After dinner, the audience will enjoy a comedy/mystery drama called “Café Murder,” performed by ALM members.

The event, “A Heart for Honduras,” is a fundraiser for a mission trip to Honduras in August. After the theatre, a video will be shown of the church of Sarah (Sutton) and Edward Nazar, as well as a school and orphanage they support.

The mission team includes 14 adults and youngsters. While in Honduras, they’ll build an outdoor kitchen at El Volcan, a K-9 mountain school that serves 190 students. They’ll hang drywall in a new multipurpose room at the Hope House orphanage, and they’ll build a security fence at the Nazars’ church, Iglesia Esperanza Viva. The team will also do street evangelism and ministry to children at all locations.

Proceeds from “A Heart for Honduras” will go toward supplies for those projects and to help some team members with travel expenses.

Tickets are available from ALM members or by calling the church at 515-386-8347.
