BRR coming to Rippey Saturday, Feb 3
The first thing I saw when I walked into the Fellowship Hall on Sunday morning was a table heaped with bags of potatoes ready to bake and a list of willing helpers, pie and dessert bakers. t’s that time of year!

Rippey Lions Club will meet for a potluck meal on Thursday, Feb. 1 for their regular meeting.  After the meal, they will  prepare items to serve during the Bike Ride to Rippey.  Bicyclists and others can join in the festivities by sharing in tasty food with the youth group at the Rippey United Methodist Church and the Rippey Lions Club at the library/community building, the Rippey Firemen and Chappy Chapman, to name a few.

It’s always a great time to “people watch” as well as support the groups who provide the good food around town  ~Jean Borgeson

Wednesday Feb. 14,7 pm –  Parish-wide Ash Wednesday service at Rippey.

Kelsey Blanshan of Ankeny and Delores Blanshan of Waterloo were recent surprise weekend guests of Virgene Morse. The girls enjoyed pizza and a good visit while having fun doing some odd jobs for Grandma.

Connie Neese enjoyed a visit with her daughter and husband Barb and David Ovenshire of Cedar Rapids. Their son Riley, a student at ISU, came to Rippey to pick up his grandmother and they both were overnight visitors of his parents. Riley and Connie met other family members in Ames at a restaurant and after eating, they brought Connie back to Rippey. It was a great way to take advantage of the warmer weather.
