Members of the local VFW, American Legion and American Legion auxiliary hosted Boy Scout Troop 534 and their leaders for an appreciation meal and a check presentation. According to American Legion post commander Jim Andrew, each of the three groups gave the scouts $100 to acknowledge their willingness and help with color guard and fundraising activities.

High school seniors who reside in Greene County are invited and encouraged to apply for scholarships offered by the Greene County Soil & Water Conservation Club and Greene County Soil & Water Conservation District by Friday, March 2.

Greene County Farm Bureau announced last week it has established a scholarship fund for scholarships to be awarded in 2018 to graduating seniors who are entering a two or four-year school with a major related to agriculture.
