Applications available for 2018 Community Foundation grants

New this year, a simpler form for smaller grants

The 2018 Greene County Community Foundation grant applications are now available, said Tom Wind, president of the Foundation board. “We anticipate another large amount of funding from Grow Greene County again this year from their proceeds from Wild Rose Casino. We encourage organizations around the county to submit a grant application this year. During the last 12 years we have awarded grants totaling $1,195,000 to non-profit organizations,” Wind said.

The Foundation has improved the process of applying for grants by simplifying the application for grants of $3,000 or less. “We realized we need less information to evaluate the merits of a smaller grant than a larger one, so we decided it should also take less time to fill out the application,” Wind said.

Two different grant forms, one for smaller grants and one for larger ones, are now
available online at at www.forgreenecounty.org Completed applications are due at Journey Financial at Home State Bank office by Thursday, Feb. 15, at 4 pm.

Like last year, the Foundation will accept grant applications of up to $35,000. Grant applications for more than $35,000 should be directed to Grow Greene County.

The Foundation will hold a grant writing workshop Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 7 pm in the meeting room at the Greene County Extension office in Jefferson. Anyone with questions about the application process is encouraged to attend.

Board members of the Foundation will review and score the applications in February and grants will be awarded and available in mid-March.
