The deadline for city council and mayor candidates filing nomination papers with the Greene County auditor’s office is Thursday, Sept. 21, at 5 pm. Every city in Greene County will elect council members and all but Jefferson will vote on their mayors. City elections are non-partisan.
Nomination papers are available from city clerks or the Greene County auditor. They are also available online. Jefferson candidates must have at least 25 signatures on their petitions. Dana requires just five signatures. The rest of the towns in the county need a minimum of ten signatures.
