Students qualify for state speech contest

Greene County and Paton-Churdan will be represented at the Iowa High School Speech Association’s individual events state contest at Johnston High School March 11. Members of both speech teams earned “I” ratings at a district contest held last Saturday at ADM High School and qualified for the state contest.

Greene County Medical Center has joined with Medicap Pharmacy in Jefferson to obtain a MedSafe container. This secure receptacle allows people to drop off and safely dispose of expired, unused or unwanted medications. Cattlemen hold annual dinner, auction

Auction nets nearly $20K It was a profitable and fun evening Saturday when the Greene County Cattlemen’s Association hosted their annual banquet at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson. Almost 250 people joined the Cattlemen in raising $19,285 to promote beef products and provide scholarships to local students furthering their education.
