In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered Jan. 11 against Travis Austin Smith of Jefferson. Smith was charged in district court the domestic abuse assault impeding blood/air flow in June. The charge was amended to domestic abuse assault- simple and a judgment was entered by magistrate David Morain. Smith was placed on informal probation for one year and he must complete a batterers education program at his own expense. He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge. He must also pay $600 for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $158.50 court costs.
A judgment for a $100 fine with a $35 surcharge was entered against Brianna Taylor Wirtz of West Des Moines after she pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless driving. The charge was amended from charge in district court of operating while intoxicated- first offense. Court costs were $100.
Jennifer M. Ashby of Jefferson was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge after she pleaded guilty to a charge of public intoxication. Charges of interference with official acts and disorderly conduct were dismissed. Court costs were $60.
Robert Alan Mukka of Ohama, NE, was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on a charge of trespass. Court costs were $60.
Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that William Tyler Carlson of Des Moines has been charged with trespass. A warrant for his arrest was issued Aug. 9 and returned Jan. 9.
