The spacious new lobby/corridor at Greene County Medical Center has allowed a seasonal favorite, the medical center auxiliary’s “Holiday of Lights” to grow.
This year’s silent auction includes 50 wreaths, Christmas trees, porch decorations and table centerpieces, about 10 more than in previous years.
Some items pay homage to favorite sports teams like the Chicago Cubs, the St Louis Cardinals, and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.
Others feature a new twist on tradition, while others are as traditional as cookies for Santa.
Medical center departments, local organizations, businesses and individuals have decorated the items. Not only is the Holiday of Lights festive, it’s a good fundraiser as well. The silent auction raises money for a great cause. All funds raised by the auxiliary are used for equipment needs of the medical center.
Bidding ends Monday, Dec. 5, at 3 pm, so successful bidders can have the items in their homes for the holidays.
