New coaches, new culture for Ram boys basketball

basketballPublic invited to watch practice

Members of the community are invited for a sneak peak at the 2016-17 Greene County boys basketball team under new head coach Chris Nelson and assistant Chad Morton.

At Ram Night on Friday, Nov. 18, the community, players’ parents, and students in grades 3-8 and their parents are invited to watch the team practice from 6 to 7:15 pm at the middle school gym. After practice, the younger students can join the players to work on various skills and have some friendly competitions. Youngsters are welcome to wear a plan red, white or grey T-shirt that the players will be happy to autograph. Finally, a team picture will be taken with the players and the younger students.

While the students are working with the players, the coaching staff will have a short meet-and-greet with community members and talk about expectations for the season. A brief parents’ meeting will follow. Ram Night will wrap up at 8:15.

“It’s all about building a positive and competitive culture. We are Greene County from the team to youth players, to the parents, to the school and to the community,” Morton said.
