Community ed offering computer classes

Iowa Central Community College in collaboration with the Greene County Schools will offer a pair of a computer classes for adults through the community education program.

In the Beginning Excel class students will cover the basics of Microsoft Excel, the computer spreadsheet program. Students will learn to navigate through the Excel screens, create, modify, save, print and format documents, as well as formulas, functions and charts.

The Excel class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 11-27, from 5 to 7 pm. There is a $50 charge for the class. 

A Basic Computers class will cover the basics of computer use with Windows programs.

Students will learn to navigate through files, folders and the desktop, as well as get a basic understanding of some of the software available; i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email software. Students will also learn to “surf” the web and use email more efficiently.

The Basic class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 1-17, from 5 to 7 pm. There is a $50 charge for the class.

The classes will be held in the computer lab at Greene County High School in Jefferson.
