Librarians at the Churdan public library remind patrons that they’re on summer hours, with the library closed Saturdays through the Labor Day weekend.
Week day hours are the same: open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11:30 am t0 5:30 pm, and Wednesday from 9:30 am to 6 pm.
Also, all area residents are invited to mark their calendars for a Fourth of July fundraiser. The library board and staff will serve a summertime supper from 5 to 6:30 pm in the Community Room. The supper will be followed by the Town and Country Band playing in the park at 6:45.
The supper menu includes grilled burgers, brats and hotdogs, baked beans, chips, bars and watermelon. A free will donation will be accepted with proceeds going to the building fund.
The Town & Country Band will perform the same program planned for the Municipal Band Festival in Boone the following Saturday. As in other years, the band will also accept donations. Concert-goers are reminded to bring lawn chairs.
