Ram baseball team loses opener

The Greene County Ram baseball season got underway May 23 in Jefferson against PCM (Monroe). It was a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference contest with the Rams falling to the Mustangs 5-4.

A young team, Greene County led 1-0, then fell behind 5-1, before losing 5-4.

Senior Tyler Beger threw all seven innings. He allowed eight hits, but none in the final three innings. Beger walked two, struck out one, and four of the PCM runs were unearned.

Beger had three hits and was on base four times. Senior Reid Lamoureux had two hits and reached base four times. Both had one run batted in. Senior Branden Miller had two hits and drove in two runs. The Rams had 10 hits while PCM had six, but Greene County left 11 runners on base. Both teams had two errors.
