The Rippey Lions Club will meet May 5 with a potluck meal.

Mary Weaver honored: Mary Weaver, president of the Friends of Rippey, was honored Sunday, May 1, with the Greene County Impact Award. Sunday, May 8 – Mother’s Day! 5 pm – SPLASH middle school youth at Grand Junction; 6:30 pm – THUG high school youth at Rippey.

News in and around Rippey:  Recently, Nancy and Dale Hanaman visited in the home of Jane Gibb in Fort  Dodge. Jane was a classmate of Nancy and Dale’s at Simpson College. Nancy met  Jane recently at a United Methodist Church meeting in Fort Dodge, renewing their friendship from 45 years ago.

Dale and Nancy Hanaman traveled to Superior to help rebuild the deck at the home of their daughter Sarah and Benji Pearson, Steven, Elizabeth and  Andrea. Their son Matthew also came to help. On Sunday, May 1, the family joined to celebrate Dale’s birthday with many candles on his cake.
