Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation will make its first round of grants, funded by its share of gaming revenues from Wild Rose Jefferson casino, on Monday evening, April 4.
The awards ceremony will take place at 7:30 pm in the Greene Room at Wild Rose Jefferson. Invitations to the event have been mailed.
Grow Greene will present checks to non-profit organizations whose applications for competitive grants of at least $35,000 were approved by the Grow Greene board.
Also receiving funds will be Greene County’s municipalities and school districts, the Greene County Medical Center Foundation, Greene County Development Corporation, and the community foundations of the six counties contiguous to Greene County (Carroll, Calhoun, Guthrie, Boone, Webster and Dallas).
The Greene County Community Foundation’s funds, which the Foundation distributed through its annual grants earlier this week, also came from Grow Greene County.
Under its agreement with Wild Rose Jefferson, Grow Greene receives five percent of the casino’s adjusted gaming revenue. Because the casino opened last July, Grow Greene’s first round of grants will represent less than a full year’s revenues.
