Want to sing at the Nativity Festival?

All are invited to be part of a massed choir

The fourth annual Habitat for Humanity Nativity Festival, set for mid-afternoon on Sunday, Dec. 13, at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson, will once again include a community concert. Featured in the 4 pm concert will be church choirs from Greene County, as well as several soloists and a poet.

New this year will be the concert’s final two numbers, which will be performed by a massed choir. That choir will be led by two well-known musicians, with Sheilah McGregor Pound directing and Becky Greiner accompanying.

All the musicians who have performed earlier in the concert will sing together in the massed choir. But in addition, all others from the public who enjoy singing are invited to join in, too.

Two rehearsals will be held for the massed choir, and attendance at those rehearsals is encouraged but not mandatory to perform in the concert. Those two rehearsals are now set for 12 noon on both Saturday, Dec. 5, and Sunday, Dec. 6, at the First United Methodist Church. Sheet music for the two songs will be distributed then.

The concert and massed choir are being coordinated by Chuck Offenburger, and you can direct questions to him at 515-370-2659 or chuck@Offenburger.com.
