New science club at Greene County HS

Greene County High School students who really like science will have new opportunities as members of the STEM Society. The Greene County school board approved the STEM Society at its regular meeting Oct. 21.

The STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Society is an academic-based organization with a purpose of raising awareness of the integration of technology into society; teach basic scientific principles, laws and topics, and discuss their importance fully; provide a resource for independent research endeavors and/or a source of inspiration; and offer opportunities to expand students’ intellectual horizons through cooperation, friendly competition and other interactive activities, a board document stated.

Launa Buxton will advise the group, with students John Mobley IV and Logan Kohl leading the effort to initiate the club.
