Prairie Blue is looking for playwrights, authors, poets

Prairie Blue Creative Arts is soliciting original scripts for a holiday show.

Director Nicole Friess-Schilling plans to do three one-act plays. She is looking for original scripts that have a holiday theme, require six or fewer actors, and can be performed by youngsters ages 8 and older through adults. Comedies and drama are welcome, as are holiday-themed short stories, poems or monologues to be performed by the writer or a Prairie Blue actor. Content must be suitable for families.

The children at Prairie Blue Performing Arts will sing at the holiday program (date to be determined), and there will be other acts from the community.

Scripts or ideas should be emailed to prairiebluecreativearts@gmail.com by Oct. 17. Tickets will be available in November with complimentary tickets for the selected script authors/performers. “Please consider being part of this fun event,” Friess-Schilling said.

A holiday fine art show will be part of the event. Watch for information about submitting works for the show.

Proceeds from the show will go toward the cost associated with completing the necessary paperwork for non-profit IRS status.
