The Jefferson Garden Club’s Yard of the Month honors for September go to Lyle and Mary Ann Wright who live at 503 N. Maple St.
Their son Michael, a professional landscaper, assisted with the planting of a variety of flowers in the front. Passers-by will see hydrangeas, coneflowers, black-eyed Susan, roses and purple salvia. A drooping weeping willow spruce grows at the end of the garden bed.
One special feature is a three-tiered water fountain made with different sized and textured ceramic pots. The Wrights have more colorful flowers surrounding their home such as pink petunias, hostas and coral bells.
