Medical center to offer oncology/hematology clinic

Greene County Medical Center has recently partnered with oncologist Dr Matthew Hill of Medical Oncology and Hematology Associates (MOHA) of Des Moines. Dr Hill will provide full oncology and hematology care as part of the medical center’s new oncology/hematology clinic.

Dr Hill and his MOHA staff will provide a full range of medical oncology and hematology diagnoses and treatments as well as chemotherapy.

Dr Hill will have his initial clinic day on Aug. 4 and then visit Jefferson the first and third Tuesday of every month starting in September. He will be joined by physician assistant Cortney Bax, PA-C, and nurse Amber Rider, RN.

Dr Hill is a native of Cedar Falls and a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. His medical training was at Des Moines University, followed by a three-year internal medicine residency at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, then a three-year hematology/oncology and blood and marrow transplantation fellowship at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

Cortney Bax, PA-C, is originally from Greenfield and completed her physician assistant training at Duke University in North Carolina. Amber Rider, RN, OCN, is also a native Iowan from Ankeny. She completed her RN degree at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines.

In addition to his affiliation with MOHA, Dr Hill is affiliated with the John Stoddard Cancer Center in Des Moines.
