ELC invites all to ‘Tromp the Trail’ at Spring Lake

Greene County Early Learning Center board members invite area residents to “get dirty for a good cause” Sunday, May 24.

A “Tromp the Trail” 3K run/walk at Spring Lake Park will cover grass, dirt trails and roads within the park. At least 10 optional obstacles will add an extra element to the family-oriented event.

“Everything we do at the Early Learning Center is for our kids,” explained ELC board president Michelle Fields. “Tromp the Trail will be a fun event for all ages. It will give families a chance to do something together that they might not do somewhere else, and it will model a healthy outdoor activity. We’re excited by the potential this event has.”

Pre-registration is requested, and registration fees are reduced through May 22. Registration forms are available at the Greene County Community Center or by clicking here.

Forms can be returned to the Community Center, with checks made payable to Greene County Early Learning Center. Same day, on-site registration will be available on Tromp Day at an added charge.

Pre-tromp check-in will take place at the park (1847 195th St, Jefferson) May 24 from 1:15 to 1:45 pm, with Tromp the Trail starting at 2 pm.

All proceeds from Tromp the Trail will go to the Greene County Early Learning Center. For more information, contact Fields at 515-370-2060.
