P-C students to present dramedy April 24-25

Paton-Churdan students are in rehearsal for the P-C drama department’s production of Almost, Maine by John Cariani. Performances are Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25, at 7 pm in the school auditorium.

Director Stephanie Pace calls the play a “dramedy,” a combination of drama and comedy. Almost, Maine is a series of scenes that all take place at the same time in the town of Almost. Each scene consists of two different people from the town experiencing their own “magical” moment at approximately 9 pm in the dead of winter. This is a play about one moment in time—what happens to people in a heartbeat, Pace explained. These people are ordinary people; they work hard, they are dignified, and they are honest and true. This is also a play about the relationships between people, which can be humorous, misunderstood, or heartbreaking. Garion Consier, Bayllie Flinn, Robin Consier, Nohea Missweit, Dylan Burgart, and Autumn Gannon comprise the cast. “These talented young actors will be playing multiple roles in the play, therefore they have a lot of prep work before opening night,” Pace said. The evening can be dinner and a show. The senior class is hosting a spaghetti supper Friday evening and the eighth grade class is hosting a potato bar supper Saturday night.
