Greene County treasurer Donna Lawson reminds all property owners that second half real estate and mobile home taxes are due. A penalty of 1.5 percent (minimum $1) becomes effective after Tuesday, March 31.

Road maintenance projects set for summer
More than $1 million will be spent on patching two Greene County roads this summer. The Greene County supervisors on Monday signed the final plans for the project, which is funded with farm to market road funds, not county tax funds.

The Greene County and Paton-Churdan school boards are planning for summer maintenance projects and purchases. The Greene County board at its March 18 regular meeting approved $576,000 in projects to be funded by the physical plant and equipment levy (PPEL). The P-C board at its March 11 regular meeting discussed projects totaling about $113,000 but did not make any decisions.
