News in and around Rippey:

Nancy and Dale Hanaman journeyed to Wisconsin last weekend to visit with their daughter and family, Sarah and Benji Pearson, Steven, Elizabeth and Andrea. They cheered for Elizabeth at her volleyball game and for Andrea, who was part of an indoor soccer team. On the return trip, winter weather returned with a vengeance with icy roads and blowing snow from the Twin Cities to Albert Lea, traveling at 40 mph. It was a relief to arrive in Iowa and to travel at normal speeds as they continued on their homeward journey.

Connie Neese recently returned home from a week trip in sunny Arizona.   Flying nonstop round trip is the way to go, she said.  Enjoying the warm weather and the hospitality of friends made an enjoyable week.

Also, The FOLLIES in Cedar Rapids Paramount Theater was the destination of a bus trip Saturday, March 21, for Connie Neese.  The FOLLIES is all volunteer members who bring their song and dance skills to share and has been in production for more than 20 years.  This year’s production was Love Changes Everything.  There were more than 100 singers, dancers and all who helped behind the scenes.  There was also a 12 piece orchestra.  The theater has been completely restored after being flooded two times in the past few years. Another treat was lunch at the Ronneberg Restaurant in Amana.

Nina Mount will celebrate her 98th birthday April 29 and will appreciate a card.  Her address is: Nina Mount, Regency Park Nursing & Rehab Center, 100 Ram Drive, Jefferson, IA 50129.
