Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that John Brinkley, 52, of Jefferson was charged in Greene County district court with theft-fourth degree. The charge was amended to theft-fifth degree and a judgment was entered March 18 in Greene County magistrate court. Brinkley paid a fine of $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. He must also pay $350 restitution to the Greene County Community Center. Court costs were $100.
Persons pleaded not guilty as follows: Marshall Raymond Estabrook, 38, of Des Moines, burglary-third degree (two counts), and possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense; and Eliza Joy Smith, 25, of Grand Junction, operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense, child endangerment, and possession of marijuana. Trial dates were set for May 12 in both cases.
Cases were initiated in Greene County district court during the week ending March 20 as follows: Drake Patrick Dayton, 18, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana; and Michael Edward Dennhardt, 46, of Rippey, criminal mischief-fourth degree and assault with intent to inflict serious injury.
